Military hospitals

The Bundeswehr Medical Service operates Bundeswehr hospitals at five locations in Germany: Berlin, Hamburg, Koblenz, Ulm and Westerstede.

Departments for psychiatry, psychotherapy and psychotraumatology have been set up in Berlin, Hamburg, Koblenz and Ulm for active and retired soldiers. In addition to outpatient consultations in specialist medical examination centres, these hospitals also have inpatient and, in some cases, day-care treatment facilities. The treatment of trauma-related disorders is established in all Bundeswehr hospitals. The civil-military Bundeswehr hospital in Westerstede also maintains an outpatient specialist examination centre. In addition to outpatient and inpatient treatment, all Bundeswehr hospitals also provide support for relatives. There are outpatient groups for relatives and, in some cases, seminars for relatives lasting several days.

In addition, there are different areas of focus in the individual psychiatric departments within the Bundeswehr Hospital system network.
