Traffic Accident Victims' Aid Association.
Verkehrsopferhilfe e. V. is an organisation set up by German motor vehicle liability insurers. In certain cases, it covers the settlement of claims following a traffic accident. This is usually when other insurance companies cannot be called upon to settle the claim. This is the case, for example, if the accident victim was injured by a vehicle that was „intentionally and unlawfully used as a ‚weapon‘“ or if the other party involved in the accident committed a hit-and-run offence. The injured parties can then submit a claim for compensation. A claim form can be downloaded from the association's website.
