Pastoral counsellors or clergy are members of a church and offer spiritual and human support, especially in emergency situations. Clergy help people regardless of their faith or religious beliefs. They are not trained in psychotherapeutic counselling, but can refer people to specialists such as psychologists, psychiatrists or social workers.
