Responsible for matters relating to surviving dependants at the Federal Ministry of Defence

Since mid-2010, a central office has been set up at the Federal Ministry of Defence to which the surviving dependants of deceased and fallen Bundeswehr personnel can turn for help with their concerns, worries and needs.

The duties of the representative for survivors' affairs are:

• Individual support for surviving dependants,
• Coordination of matters relating to surviving dependants,
• Coordination and promotion of contact between surviving relatives,
• Support for social networks and foundations within and outside the armed forces to assist surviving dependants.
