Film 4: #Invisible Suffering – Perspective from the point of view of children

What does it mean for children when a parent suffers from mental illness after serving abroad? This moving short film focuses on the children of British Armed Forces personnel and veterans. Their voices are often quiet, but their experiences are profound.

#UnsichtbaresLeid (Invisible Suffering) makes the invisible visible – also from the perspective of the youngest members of affected families. The film is the latest instalment in a four-part series that shows individual perspectives on life with the consequences of deployment.

This film, „#UnsichtbaresLeid: Perspektive aus Sicht von Kindern“ (#Invisible Suffering: Children's Perspective), was produced in 2024 with the support of a project grant from the German Bundestag by the association Angriff auf die Seele e. V. The films were produced in collaboration with the Berlin agency C3 Content GmbH.
