Central Contact, Management and Coordination Office (ZALK)

The ZALK (Central Contact, Coordination and Coordination Office) is an institution of the German armed forces for soldiers suffering from the consequences of deployment. It offers a central point of contact for advice, support and referral to appropriate assistance services. Particular focus is placed on psychological stress such as PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), but also the physical and social consequences of foreign deployments. The ZALK works closely with Psychological services, medical facilities, social counselling and external specialist centres together to ensure comprehensive care. The aim is to provide affected soldiers with rapid, unbureaucratic and sustainable support. In addition, the ZALK contributes to Removing the stigma surrounding mental illness within the German Armed Forces.

It is also the key agency for active and former soldiers who have been injured in the line of duty when it comes to implementing the Reuse Act (EinsatzWVG) as well as the Accident at Work Regulations (EinsatzUV) goes.
