Summer bivouac 2023

The 2023 summer bivouac of the association „Angriff auf die Seele – Psychosoziale Hilfe für Angehörige der Bundeswehr e. V.“ (Attack on the Soul – Psychosocial Help for Members of the German Armed Forces) took place on 20 September 2023 at the German Parliamentary Society in Berlin. Under the motto „Building bridges for soldiers damaged by deployment“, the event was accompanied by the Parliamentary Commissioner for the Armed Forces of the German Bundestag, Dr Eva Högl, as patron.

During the summer camp, current issues such as care, support, rehabilitation and financial compensation for affected soldiers were discussed. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of supporting family members, who often play a central role in the lives of PTSD sufferers.

The event served as a platform for exchange between those affected, their families, experts and political decision-makers. In addition, the German Armed Forces Association's „Mission Soul 2023“ position paper was presented, which calls for concrete measures to improve the situation of those injured in action.
