On 15 June 2025, it was Angriff auf die Seele e. V. represented at the central event for the 1st National Veterans' Day. The association presented its new short film there. #InvisibleSuffering - Perspective: From the point of view of children (Episode 4). For the first time, the National Veterans Day celebrated with over 130 events nationwide.
The historic decision to introduce an annual National Veterans' Day was made on 25 April 2024 in the Bundestag. across all democratic parties decided. The chairperson of our association was present in person at the Bundestag during the vote.
On Stand 23 in the veterans' village our association introduced itself and presented the fourth film of the association project for the first time. #InvisibleSuffering - Perspective: From the point of view of children (Episode 4). The film attracted a great deal of attention and was shared several thousand times on the internet and social media within a very short time.
The approximately three-minute film impressively shows how much children can suffer from a parent's mission-related mental illness – especially when, as a result of a foreign deployment, the parent suffers from, for example, Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or a post-traumatic stress disorder is ill.
The stand featured Video terminals with touchscreens ready for visitors to watch all four films of the project in peace with headphones.
The film is one of 13 projects, which were realised by the association in 2024 thanks to financial support from the German Parliament. It was therefore only natural for us to present this work at Veterans' Day at the Reichstag building.
The association hopes that this will also be taken into account in the 2025/2026 federal budget so that this important work for our Veterans, members of the armed forces and their families to be able to continue.
Especially in these times – with the increasing focus on national and alliance defence – we are facing new and significant challenges.
