Short film „#UnsichtbaresLeid: Perspective from the point of view of children“ celebrates its premiere at the stand of Angriff auf die Seele e. V.
On the first National Veterans' Day on 15 June 2025, the association Angriff auf die Seele e. V. will present a new short film for the first time at the central event in Berlin. The focus is on the children of Bundeswehr members with mission-related mental illnesses.
The non-profit association Angriff auf die Seele – Psychosoziale Hilfe für Angehörige der Bundeswehr e. V. (Attack on the soul – Psychosocial Help for Members of the German Armed Forces) will take part in the central celebration of the first National Veterans' Day on 15 June 2025. The event will take place at the Reichstag building in Berlin, where the association will be present at Stand 24 represented.
The focus of the presentation is on the Premiere of the new short film „#UnsichtbaresLeid: Perspective from the point of view of children“. The approximately three-minute film impressively shows how much children can suffer from a parent's mission-related mental illness – especially if, as a result of a foreign deployment, the parent suffers from, for example, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or a post-traumatic stress disorder is ill.
The new film is part of the campaign. #InvisibleSuffering, which was launched in 2023 by Angriff auf die Seele e. V. (Attack on the Soul). It draws attention to the often hidden stresses to which those affected by military service and their families are exposed. To date, four short films have been produced, each providing personal, subjective insights into life with service-related mental illness – from the perspective of those affected and their families. In June 2024, the campaign was honoured with the German Brand Award 2024.
The first three short films were financed and co-produced in 2023 with the help of the German Hardship Foundation (DHS). The new film „#UnsichtbaresLeid: Perspektive aus Sicht von Kindern“ (#Invisible Suffering: Perspective from the Point of View of Children) was produced in 2024 with the support of a project grant from the German Bundestag through the association. The films were produced in collaboration with the Berlin agency. C3 Creative Code and Content Limited Company.
